Not all condos are ugly and concrete. Check out these in Celebration:
![]() ![]() ![]() I live in an 800 sf condo. I have 2 garages and plenty of parking around. I can grow quite a lot on our 30 foot by 6 foot deck. We have tons of plants, 2 chairs and a table, a fountain , a bird bath and a hammock out there. We look out on woods/preserve. I have a pool, tennis court and gym in my development. I can walk to our library, several banks, several restaurants, a Starbucks, a PJ's Cofffe, Coldstone and Kilwins ice cream, a movie theater (2 screens), a deli, pubs, tanning salon, Ace hardware (soon), many shops, a hotel and miles of bike/walking trails. Publix, Target, etc. are 5 minutes (drive) away. We need to develop more towns where we can walk to everything! |

They are condos though-in condo developments. Condos can look nice
Condos range from $189,000-$500,000 here. The higher price being 4br/3ba or with high end everything. |

Well it's a shame that they are highly flammable and vulnerable to tornadoes and hurricanes. Condos have to be concrete otherwise they fall victim to Florida weather and insects. Those prices are even more scary! For 500,000 I would demand a home with 5+ acres in central Florida, at least 5,000 square feet with a nice home gym or a pair of bowling lanes.

You're blaming "water shortages" on high density development when it's clear that it's people with the big yards sucking up more resources per capita? |

They just look nice. Some people do not want 5 acres to take care of /pay taxes on. They want upscale sunken tubs, walk in showers, wood floors, stainles steel appliances, etc.. All tastes are different. |

I would actually consider buying a house in the countryside if the taxes weren't so much...

I can't imagine having 5 acres of land--who would want to be bothered trying to take care of that?

I would love it. I like taking care of my yard and gardening.
