It's all depends on location. I worked at the conv. store for 3 years back in 1994, never ever any problems. We opened at 6am, closed at 11pm. We were located on a busy street, hard for robbers to get away.
I worked at the teller line in 2000 at the bank and was robbed, $3000.00 was taken. no gun, just a note. Guy got cought few months later and is in jail.

I'm still at the bank, but not the teller line, i would never go back to be a teller. Conv. store was fun, we had great people to work with. I wont go back simply because it doesn't pay anything.

Location, location, location!! Ask your manager about safety in that particular area and if there were any incidents.

Good luck!

Hey my earlier comment was deleted! And for the record, it was on topic. I think because we mentioned weapons and convenience stores, someone was not too happy with that...So anyway...

I saw something on the news today that made me think of this topic. A cashier was having a heart attack while being robbed at a Florida convenience store. The crook actually 'felt' bad for her and let her call 911 to get help. You can hear him on the video apologizing to her and giving excuses as to why he has to rob her! So while all of this is going on, a customer walks in and next thing you know, he's on the phone with 911 explaining that they're being robbed and meanwhile, the crook is still there working on getting the money out of the cash register. He manages to leave before the cops arrive. I don't know how it all turned out but I think the cashier was okay. I think it's scary enough to work there but the thought never occured to me what it must be like to be the customer that walks into the middle of it.

Chris,

what about the stores and shops in Belleview??? I thought that the AutoZone on 301/441 in Belleview was hiring.

Best of luck to you, I know it is hard to find safe work in this area!!

Mine was deleted also, and also was on topic. I questioned it and was told that several were deleted for being "...only about guns." I don't even remember mentioning a gun, and if I did, it was in passing, with a lot of other content. The original poster discussed guns before my post. I am not a happy camper. I spent time composing that response. and don't appreciate an arbitrary deletion.
