Seeing the ocean and the everglades for the first time. Trips to Key West before it commercialized.
My favorite has to be playing in a huge mud pool and dirt (florida) mountain when they were building the Sawgrass expressway. Times have changed. Now a place like that would be fenced off.

Good for you for defending your thread, Floridabound.
Another favorite memory: watching an otter munching on a stolen fish

Wow, I would have loved to seen that...

Hi Jen,
Yes !
If they have bad memories of Florida and want to share them, they can post it in there own all negative thread. Maybe all the negative poster can fight over who has it the worse memory.
How is life for the new Florida family?
What is your favorite new Florida memory?

Life is good for a new Florida family despite what some people say. Kids can swim year round. What kid does not like that? There are also lots of water activities to stay cool. Sure the school system is not where it should be but most public school systems are not.
My favorite new memory, just this year, is going to the beach with my 1yo son and seeing him enjoying the beach and all the people around and then trying to put him in the water only to have him lift his feet every time I tried to dip his feet in the water.

We are still loving it down here! Life is pretty good!
As for new memories, I have two....
The first one....walking outside the house yesterday morning at about 7am.
It was soooo quiet you could hear a pin drop, and there was a little bit of fog in the trees. The air was thick and humid, but it smelled so good, cant really explain it, but it was a beautiful morning.
The second is almost the same as WOWaddict posted...Seeing how my 1 year old son loves the beach. He just loves running all over the sand and getting his feet wet.
Ok. one more....lol... watching my 6 year old daughter playing in the waves. It reminds me of being that same age and also enjoying the beach, just like she does.

FL is a beautiful state (whatever is left of the pretty nature areas).
But to many, their best memories are of LEAVING Florida.
I thought the purpose of the thread was to list your fav memory of FL. And mine are memories of the "old Orlando" and of leaving FL. What is wrong with that??

Favorite Memory of FL
In reply to Tall Rick, why do you specify just "northeasterners"? Lots of midwesterners move to FL. And you mention "immigrants"...Do you mean illegals?
