Going to the local park with my neices and pushing them on swings, walking aroud Winter Park and going to the farners market. Just exploring Florida. Seeing the space shuttle taking off into space from my back yard. That was Spectacular. Moving here was one of the best decisions we've made, no regrets. I don't mind living like a floridian and slowing down from what used to be a fast paced NY lifestyle. I enjoy life here so much more!!
Laws yes.. so many wonderful memories ya'll have shared. Hmmm.. Ok..
1. Playing in a band @ Seville Quarter, the Handlebar & Sluggo's making people dance and have a good time in Pensacola.
2. Racing Ninja motorcycles on hot summer nights down those long straight brightly lit roads of Gainesville, FL.
3. Crusing on a boat from the Miami Yach Club, just like Sonny Crockett & Ricardo Tubbs.
4. Racing on I-10 against a candy apple red Pontiac Firebird Trans-AM GTA against my dad's silver Corvette that I snuck out @ 2AM.
5. Learning all about keggers and instant parties out on the beach in parking lots.
6. Experiencing first love out on the beach, and getting bit by beach flies on my bum.
7. Disney World. Every time. Always puts a smile on my face. It truly is, the happiest place on Earth for me.
Laws yes, so many memories here. I had to come back. I had to come back.
That is an awesome group of memories and then you had to move back. That is a nice post and I smile when I go to Disney too, after more then 50+ trips there in 25 years, I still smile when I get off the tram, now I get to see my 9 year old with ear to ear smiles every single time we walk down the ramp.

Thanks Floridabound09
"Now that is cool !!"
I see so many neg. comments even on a thread like this that was supposed to be good memories. I realize everyone is entitled to what their "good memory" is, but there is no need for all of the bashing of Florida. You won't believe the changes I saw growing up on Long Island, some good, some really bad, but I would never say I left without looking back. Every place you go or live should be able to leave an imprint on your heart and soul. Even bad things teach lessons and should be considered a lesson learned. Every state has great and horiible things about it. If you visit any other state forum on this site, you will see all the same things, love it, hate it, can't wait to leave, can't wait to get there. What might be considered garbage by some becomes a refuge to others. I've said it before, do not let other people's bad or good experiences sway what you think or feel about moving or just visiting somewhere. Take it into your own hands and find out what is right for you. We have and couldn't be happier for it. Thanks Florida, for a great life.

I grew up in Hialeah; I am 57 years old now so my memories of Hialeah go back before the insane place it eventually became. Life was simple; we hung out at O'Quinn Park during summer days and weekends. Memories of Dennis Burkette, Brady, Whiteacre, Huck, Roger Spence, Dee Dee. We thought we were the bad a**** of Hialeah. I remember the aftermath of Hurricane Donna, the streets would flood and we caught tadpoles and made makeshift surf boards and played in the puddles. Long before Govt. cut was developed it was the mysterious woods across the street. I can remember the dogs out on red road during the winter when the air was crisp and you could hear them from a mile away. I have fond memories of riding my bike in the halls of the Presbyterian Church across the street from my house. Memories of Twin Lakes elementary fall festival every year at Halloween. Candied apples, cotton candy, the smells and flavors of the seasons. I lived there when Palm Springs Mile was a cow pasture and the only way to head north to visit relatives in Michigan was to go through that cow pasture to Okeechobee road. Cousins Pat, Mike and Tim Harrington. Holiday meals at their home. Dyed baby chicks at Easter time. I met my husband in Hialeah, we married and had 4 children raised them in Miami but the happier times had all but disappeared by then. Adam Walsh’s disappearance and subsequent death took much of the safeness and security of our lives away. But my memories of a childhood in paradise sustained me through the death of a child, divorce, and the ups and downs of life. I can close my eyes and revisit happier times. Those times are long gone, except in my mind where they are safe from the turmoil’s of life today.

Yeah, our first Florida Christmas Day was spent with friends. We had Christmas dinner by the pool then we all called our relatives back north to wish them a Merry Christmas and do a little... "Oh, wait, I can't hear you... the a/c just turned on," to rub it in.
Actually, all I have to do is turn to my left and see the giant palm fronds swaying in the breeze and I've got another memory.
