As someone who lost her home in Hurricane Andrew, I never think about sun exposure, I just think about exposure to hurricane winds. My home at the time faced east and did not hold up as well as homes that did not, since the storm (and most others) comes from the east. Since then, I've bought homes that do not face east.

My current home faces north and it works well for us.

I am not sure where I read it, but when I was looking to buy I saw several articles that showed Southern Exposure is the most popular in Florida. I really wish I could find the articles again. It seems that houses with Southern Exposure sell much faster and at a slightly higher price than the other exposures (even for the exact same house in the same neighborhood).

If I can find the articles or the studies, I will be sure to post them here.

My house faces east/west. Waaay too much sun exposure, especially in the afternoon.
