Take your cinnamon out of the closet and dust the area outside or inside where they enter. ants are not a fan of cinnamon for some reason. I was thinking it sounded like sugar ants so make sure nothing sweet is left out.

You can mix 1 tbl each sugar and baking soda, put in little caps where you see the ants. They will eat the sugar mixture and die back in the nest.

An old remedy.

Arrow Re: Terro for indoor ants

Terro is the best solution for indoor ants. Especially "sugar ants", so named for their tiny size equal to that of a grain of sugar.

If you have pets or small children, you can put the Terro on post-it notes and tape them to the wall near where you are seeing the ants; Just tape them higher than the pets or kiddies can reach.

If you MUST put the Terro on a counter-top or a floor area, "fence it in" with larger objects such as stacks of books, potted plants, vases, etc, so that the pets & kiddies can't get to it (after all, it is poison). It should only take about a week until the ants have carried enough Terro back to their nest to kill off the queen & the rest of the gang.

--- Good luck !!!

It looks like we have this same ant problem with the same kind of ants! We noticed them in our one kitchen cupboard last week, the day after we moved into the apartment and the day after it rained. Bought some ant traps, put them inside one cupboard and on top of the kitchen cupboards and that pretty much took care of the problem (wife did see a couple in another area of the kitchen a few days ago). Talked to our apt. management and they are having an exterminator stop by tomorrow with more potient traps. It rained last night and I found some of these ants in our one bathroom this morning (around sink/inside medicine cabinet). Will go to Home Depot and get a bottle of that Terro and use it. Haven't seen any spiders, like we had in North Carolina. It seemed to us that after it rained, these ants showed up! Will get rid of these "little boogers" one way or the other!!!!!!
