Can anyone living in either Lakeworth or Green Acres tell me what they think about their communities.
What's the crime rate? Is it safe?....
Anyting you want to tell me would be appreciated.
We got an opportunity to move in either place but want to know more.
Please, help!

Lake Worth has had a rough couple of years for crime. Not sure about Greenacres. Nevertheless, there are many other communities outside of Lake Worth and Greenacres should you get more negative information about those areas.

Lake Worth is hit or miss. My parents live in a Gated community in Lake Worth by Lantana Road and really like it there. But if you travel a few miles you can find yourself in some rough areas.

As for Greenacres it's pretty close to Lake Worth. But I haven't driven in that town too much lately. There are some nice homes traveling up SR7/441, almost towards Wellington, that is west of the Greenacres/Lake Worth area. But I am not sure how much you want to spend.

tmh is right - it depends on what part of town you're in - both for Greenacres & LW. Also, LW is a small city but an adjacent large county-run area has LW postal addresses. So it's important to know if it is LW or "suburban LW."

The east part of the city is ok (east of Federal Hwy) and some parts of "suburban" LW are ok. Greenacres seems to have alot of rentals and has been looking progressively more trashy in the past few years.

I live east of Federal and walk my dogs alone at night & feel safe. I've (accidentally) left my house unlocked during the day & been fine. The downtown area of LW is fun and has nice parks. The beach is nice and has a fishing pier (shorter after the 04 hurricanes). There is still somewhat of a small town feel here.

You don't mention if you have kids & need to consider schools. South Grade Elem has a bilingual program for the little ones, but the middle school is dicey. LW HS is average but has a health career magnet and the law magnet program.

Hope this helps.

Pretty much anything west of Jog Road is okay.

I agree with this. East can be REALLY dangerous. Like the worst in South Florida. When I went there some areas were freaking scary. West of Jog is just fine. I actually have some family in Lake Worth in that area and they aren't really crazy about it, but don't have any crime problems.

Yep, go to Lake Worth Beach and you will experience it even more. Especially after dark.
