I would go to the BBB and look at complaints they have had. I use this a lot for different business.

Holiday home Builders
In 2004 Holiday built us a beautiful home in Winter Haven Fl. If you are considering a community, they are one of the best quality and values for the dollar. They generally build in communities that have slightly larger lots and are aimed towards professional and their families. If you check out comments from their piers, you will find they have won several awards. They are an employee owned company.
If you are considering purchasing a lot aan ddoing a custom home check out www.palmharborhomes.com and visit their Lakeland Florida website.

We built a Morro Bay in 2001 on 3 acres in North Port and have never regretted it. Holiday builds a home without a lot of extras but you get a lot for your money. They are also very good about correcting any problems that you have after moving in. My daughter also bought a home from Holiday in 2004 and she has had no problems.

We thought all was well with Holiday Builders until closing. Note that we are in California and the home is in Texas. Then we were cheated on the landscaping for which we had paid extra. After nearly a year of delays, emails, phone calls, change in personnel, written promises, and assurance of a "job well done," we found they had cut corners, ignored their own commitments, and LIED to us the whole time. I would NEVER do business with them again!

wow, I am sorry that happened to you but I would never advise anyone to build any thing from long distance. To easy for them to cheat.

Thanks for any help,

There are quite a few builders in Marion County.......and not all of them build a nice product. The mistake most people make is assuming a large builder is a good builder. Don't discount a smaller builder. We build in the Ocala area and pride ourselves on quality construction and relationships. Again larger "production" type builders tend to lose touch with their houses, they have superintendents that oversee the construction process versus the builder being onsite. My comments do not apply to all builders in the area.

We had Holiday Builders
and had a very good experience. Sorry yours was not. I think builders are like realtors...under the same agency name, some agents are good, some not.
It's a sin when customers put their hard earned money into the hands of people they are told they can trust and they get shafted. Totally unfair and they WILL get theirs back someday. Maybe not from us, but karma, God, fate will take care of the cheats!

Holiday Builders Central Fl
In 2004 we had a house built in Citrus County Florida. We are coming up to 3 years of living in the house and the place is falling apart. The workmanship in this house is of very poor quality. We had to threaten to get a lawyer before they would do the work that was under warranty. When it was done it was very poor quality. we would not recommend Holiday Builders.

Re. Holiday Buiders Central Fl.
We are in the process of having a home built by Holiday Builders in Spring Hill, Hernando Co. just south of you I believe. I truly hope we do not have the same contractors that built your home because our dealings with Holiday Homes management have been a nightmare from the start. Lies, after lies, after lies from the top on down to the construction manager.
Naive as we were we gave him 6K for site prep and landscaping without getting anything in writing. He, the construction manager, was going to cut down 5 ugly, old, dying trees. After a couple of months we drove 3 hours to check on progress and surprise, the trees were still standing, just a few limbs had been lopped off. They had decided not to cut them down, no conferring with us, and the money was gone, 'over budget' he said. This was only another of the many falsehoods we have had to contend with since June '07.
'Phoning. emailing, writing to mangement is a wasted effort, they are not available and do not return calls or emails. If you are lucky enough to catch one in his/her office you get the run-around and more lies.
Our home will be finished Dec. 1st. '07 and I am not thrilled at the prospect.
One of the trees I mentioned fills the whole front yard so what can we expect in the way of landscaping I wonder.Today, my husband called the construction manager to tell him that we are getting a tree specialist in to cut it down. His reply was, 'I'll ask management for permission'. This is our bought, and paid for small piece of land but we are treated as though it belongs to them. Don't we have any rights? I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy!!

Moderator deleted> Compared to other builders, they are better constructed and more reliable! My guy is in construction so he knows about the business. There were three other builders who he would not deal with as they did cheap and shoddy work. I'm surprised you are having trouble w/them. They were ahead of schedule and we had no problems.
