Hello all,

Two weeks ago my husband & I submitted a lease application for approval to the HOA in Miami Beach. The owner said we have the unit and removed the listing from MLS, so we thought we had it. Our move-in date is 6/24- Friday! Movers are booked, boxes are packed!

However, we still have yet to hear if we are approved from the HOA. I know that this past Monday a credit company called our employers, banks, and referrals, and asked for our paystubs and tax returns. They said they have no further paperwork pending.

Our realtor says we just need to wait but it is 2 days left to move date. I want to call the HOA myself and/or owner's realtor and say I don't want to be pushy but we need to know. Can I do that??

Thanks for your help...

Does the HOA employ a Property Management company? If so, maybe you or your agent could call them?

We sweated over our approval this spring--I think HOA's are slow because the board members are all volunteers, and there often is not a sense of urgency. We had to await an interview, and it was a bit tense, although it didn't come down to the last 2 days, more like a week.

I hear you, i would be nervous. Perhaps your realtor could call his or her counterpart (the seller's realtor) and get them to push--most HOA's, in this real estate climate, have a stake in making sure that sales go through!

Good luck, let us know what happens.
