Sorry, I never said ALL of the post.

In other words, you've been here for a few weeks, spent time going to beaches, Disney World, shopping, out to dinner, etc. Sounds like a blast to me! But then you claim to know everything about living here. My comment wasn't negative or meant to be a personal attack. Had you written "I'm having a great time here. It's lovely. I haven't had any problems meeting people. I also haven't run into issues with bugs and snakes so far"

You are kidding right? I should change me wording to your liking?

I would have simply posted "Glad you are having fun. Enjoy your stay!" I've posted thousands of comments about the nice beaches, beautiful sunsets and friendly people in Florida.

However, you chose to go a step further and state that the long time residents who have spent years in Florida raising families, working hard, etc., are full of it based on your limited experience.

I never said all, sorry the facts turned out that the negatives that I read and was looking for once we moved here turned out so far to be total bs.

Get a job working in a store ( Dont need a job, already worked many years away ) and then tell me how patient and kind the people in Florida are, especially the snowbirds. Seriously, reading your posts, one would imagine you have no idea that unemployment is over 14% in some of the counties you've mentioned or that many people are losing their homes. There are also a lot of retirees who are having trouble making it day to day.

By the way, I'm not unhappy or bored, but going to the beach, flea markets, Legoland and Disney isn't what life in Florida is all about, or anywhere else for that matter. Life isn't a Theme Park.

It is what YOU make it.

Since someone brought up the political forums, I'm going to make a comparison. In a way, this thread reminds me of politics. You can be a die-hard conservative, but if you disagree with an issue or two, you're suddenly labeled a liberal or accused of being unAmerican. I've posted thousands of positive comments about Florida, even arguing with those who are too quick to criticize and suddenly I'm a "Negative Nancy." I guess like the ongoing battle in Washington, there are some who don't believe in compromise or listening to the opinions of others. I don't see this nearly as much on other boards. People have discussions and share experiences. A rare concept, I know, but it's a lot more helpful to those seeking reliable information.

I never said I knew everything about Florida, you just assumed that.

I can post the facts, the items that many have posted about "so far" have been total bunk. I have NOT had any issues with the constantly posted items that I have read for 2 years in this forum.

It is my opinion based on what people have posted about and if you do not like it do not post in MY thread, start your own Florida bashing thread as I can attest that I have NOT ran into a long list of negatives about Florida as of today.

I also never said it was a theme park. I worked my 20s and 30's away working 16-20 hours a day every day running a business. 8 hours a day is easy for anyone to do. I had my kids later in life and we are being rewarded for the years of hard work. Why do you have a problem with that?

This thread needs to get back on topic, it is about me living in Florida and enjoying it and not about the anyone else who seems to take offense to my positive postings. If you cannot remain positive then stop posting in the thread and start your own my life is miserable in Florida thread or just find one of the other posters who already started one and join in.

I listened to the naysayers and so far the important information they were putting out has turned out to be totally wrong based on my experience thus far.

If you want reliable information on Florida I can personally tell you if I had relied on the constant barrage of things the Florida haters post about I would not have moved here. I chose to pick and chose who I was listening to and thank goodness by reading thousands of post here and we knew enough people in Florida who told me that most people who have issues with Florida always blame in on the state or its people.

I am sorry my POSITIVE HAPPY thread has offended some here.

I see some people just cannot stand for others do to well in Florida.

Again, if you dont like my upbeat positive threads then dont read it and dont post in it.

Get back to the topic of me and my family finally getting to Florida and enjoying it.

The theme park comment made me realize some people cannot stand for others to enjoy things.

Will you feel better if I post a negative?

I do not like Daytona Beach, it is a dump.

I did not like the fact that the utilities charged crazy amounts to just turn on the power, cable and water. But then again I knew this ahead of time and was not going to allow this to keep me from living a dream of getting to Florida.

I do not like the fact that a lady at a local store could not speak a lick of English. Why on earth would she get hired when she cannot speak our official language?

Lol, English is the de facto language of the US, we have no "official" language.

More then 80% of "Americans" believe it is our language. That is official enough for me.

Never said no one didnt believe English was our language, just that there has never been a bill passed by Congress making it the official language.

Are there still ponds in Spring Hill with water in them? They seemed to be getting pretty low just before i left.

I wouldnt call it "bunk" Sunny, I would call it someone elses vision/view and the perception of other people. Some see drudgery some see happiness. Where the live won't make a lick of a difference, they will still feel the same.

We have a fish pond with a dock on our property, the pond is the lowest I have ever seen it, the spring on our property is also very low......
We live not far from Lake George, the level is down there as well.
