Let's read the facts on driving under 18 in FL.

Learner License - To earn a learner license, you must be at least 15 years old
You must provide :
 • Parental Consent Form, which must be signed in the presence of a driver license examiner or notarized if parent or guardian will not be present (form is located at Official Website Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles). If you are under 18 and are not married one parent or legal guardian must sign your license application. Step-parents may not sign unless they have legally adopted you.
 • Documents needed to establish your proof of identity, proof of social security number (if issued), and proof of residential address. Please visit GatherGoGet.com for information regarding these required documents.
You are required to take:
 • A Written Test covering the following areas:
Road Rules - 20 multiple choice questions about traffic laws - must have 15 correct answers to pass.
Road Signs - 20 multiple choice questions about road signs - must have 15 correct answers to pass.
Florida Driver Handbook
 • Vision Test using an eye machine. To pass, you must have 20/40 (or better) vision in each and both eyes, with or without corrective lenses.
 • Hearing Test
With your Learner's License, you may:
Only drive during daylight hours during the first three months and until 10 p.m. thereafter, always with a licensed driver who is at least 21 years old and occupies the front passenger seat.
Intermediate License (16 and 17 year old) - To earn an operator's license, you must be at least 16 years old AND have held a learner's license for at least one year without any traffic convictions.
You must provide:
 • A Florida Learner's License or a license from another jurisdiction.
 • Parent or guardian certification that you have at least 50 hours of behind the wheel driving experience, of which 10 hours must be at night.
You are required to take:
 • Driving test and perform certain driving maneuvers. Please refer to the Florida Driver Handbook for specifics or present a waiver from an accepted driver education course. You are required to have a current registration and insurance on the vehicle at the driving test.

With your Intermediate License, you may:
 • 16 years old - only drive between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m., unless accompanied by a licensed driver who is at least 21 years old and occupies the front passenger seat, or you are traveling to or from work.
 • 17 years old - only drive between 5 a.m. and 1 a.m., unless accompanied by a licensed driver who is at least 21 years old and occupies the front passenger seat, or you are traveling to or from work.

Driving is a Privilege - Don't Lose It There are a number of infractions that can cause you to lose or restrict your driving privileges. The following are of particular interest to teen drivers.
 • If you receive a moving traffic conviction while you have a Learner's License, the one year period you are required to hold your Learner's License will be extended for one year from the date of the conviction or until you are 18 years old, whichever happens first.
 • If you receive 6 points on your driving record within a 12 month period, your driving privileges are automatically restricted to business purposes only for 12 months or until you are 18, whichever happens first. If you receive additional points during this restricted period, the restriction is extended 90 days for each additional point.
 • If you have a blood alcohol level of .02% or more (applies to those under age 21), an administrative suspension of six months will result.
 • If you are truant in your school attendance, your driving privilege is suspended until you provide proof you have attended school for 30 consecutive days.
 • If you are convicted for possession of tobacco products (applies to those under age 18).

A pause in a sentence would be a comma, but, 3 periods at the end would be an ellipsis ...

Default My reply

I can't see the north making the south smarter one person at a time, when all that northerners want to do is ***** and whine about everything everywhere that they ever move, including over seas. I've seen it in NC, TN, and SC, but I have also seen it in South America as well. That is why in Quito, Ecuador I have seen signs saying Yankee Go Home!
Furthermore, back in the seventies southerners had complete freedom to use their own resources as they see fit, in the cities and in the countryside, unlike anywhere in the north for the past 100 years. People rented rooms out, they had general stores, they could build a chicken coop on their own property and have the power turned on. Since these sniveling, whining second generation foreigners who have been raised up in their own national enclaves, have been flooding the southern homeland with their alien ideas, now they have wormed their way into the southern political system and made our homeland just like the sorry places that they left behind. What kind of good sense does that make?
The truth is the real problems over the past hundred and twenty years between northerners and southerners has nothing at all to do with the Civil War, and everything to do with a foreign mindset with its alien belief system and culture, versus a mindset formulated during the US colonial period. What we are dealing with is the age old clash between a mind set of native individualism versus a foreign one of blind compliance. So why is it that southerners allow such disgusting filth to order them around, when it should be true American culture telling the alien one to do his bidding.

I'd also like to add to the above that the North pays far more in taxes (Federal) than they receive back. The South on the other hand takes far more than they send. The southerners complain about the "Yankees" and yet NY and NJ pay the highest federal taxes and receive the least amount back. The deep south states receive more than they contribute. If you hate us so much- stop taking our money!

Heck, let me be the first to say “Thank You”, now, feel better?

Rules For Visiting Yankees From the Southern Tourism Bureau:
1. Don’t order pasta primavera at Waffle House. It’s just a diner. They serve breakfast 24 hours a day. Let them cook something they know. If you confuse them, they’ll kick your ***.
2. Don’t laugh at our Southern names (Merleen, Bodie, Ovine, Luther Ray, Tammy Lynn, Darla Beth, Inez, Billy Joe, Sissy, Clovis, etc.). Or we will just HAVE to kick your ***.
3. Don’t order a bottle of pop or a can of soda down here. Down here it’s called Coke. Nobody gives a flying damn whether it’s Pepsi, RC, Dr. Pepper, 7 Up or whatever-it’s still a Coke. Accept it. Doing otherwise can lead to an *** kicking.
4. We know our heritage. Most of us are more literate than you (e.g., Welty, Williams, Faulkner). We are also better educated and generally a lot nicer. Don’t refer to us as a bunch of hillbillies, or we’ll kick your ***.
5. We have plenty of business sense (e.g., Fred Smith of FedEx, Turner Broadcasting, MCI WorldCom, MTV, Netscape). Naturally, we do sometimes, have small lapses in judgment (e.g., Carter, Clinton). We don’t care if you think we are dumb. We are not dumb enough to let someone move to our state in order to run for the Senate. If someone tried to do that, we would kick their ***.
6. Don’t laugh at our Civil War monuments. If Lee had listened to Longstreet and flanked Meade at Gettysburg instead of sending Pickett up the middle, you’d be paying taxes to Richmond instead of Washington. If you visit Stone Mountain and complain about the carving, we’ll kick your ***.
7. We are fully aware of how high the humidity is, so shut the hell up. Just spend your money and get the hell out of here, or we’ll kick your ***.

8. Don’t order wheat toast at Cracker Barrel. Everyone will instantly know that you’re a Yankee. Eat your biscuits like God intended-with gravy. And don’t put sugar on your grits, or we’ll kick your ***.
9. Don’t fake a Southern accent. This will incite a riot, and you will get your *** kicked.
10. Don’t talk about how much better things are at home because we know better. Many of us have visited Northern cesspools like Detroit, Chicago, and DC, and we have the scars to prove it. If you don’t like it here, Delta is ready when you are. Move your *** on home before it gets kicked.
11. Yes, we know how to speak proper English. We talk this way because we don’t want to sound like you. We don’t care if you don’t understand what we are saying. All other Southerners understand what we are saying, and that’s all that matters. Now, go away and leave us alone, or we’ll kick your ***.
12. Don’t complain that the South is dirty and polluted. None of OUR lakes or rivers have caught fire recently. If you whine about OUR scenic beauty, we’ll kick your *** all the way back to Boston Harbor.
13. Don’t ridicule our Southern manners. We say sir and ma’am. We hold doors open for others. We offer our seats to old folks because such things are expected of civilized people. Behave yourselves around our sweet little gray-haired grandmothers or they’ll kick some manners into your *** just like they did ours.
14. So you think we’re quaint or losers because most of us live in the countryside? That’s because we have enough sense to not live in filthy, smelly, crime-infested cesspools like New York or Baltimore. Make fun of our fresh air, and we’ll kick your ***.
15. Last, but not least, DO NOT DARE to come down here and tell us how to barbecue. This will get your *** shot (right after it is kicked). You’re lucky we let you come down here at all. Criticize our barbecue, and you will go home in a pine box. Minus your ***.

What so many people fail to realize or acknowledge is the US is so dramatically diverse, geographically, ethnically, topographically, culturally and so many other distinguishable features.

Why so many move to an area and expect it to be just like where they came from or try to change their new home towns to what it is like where they come from is beyond me.

I am a former northerner living in the south.......I have adapted, lived and accepted the culture of the south in my area.

Many of the Northerners move down here with a holler than thou attitude as if they are benefiting the state in a way. Plus many like to drive slow in the passing lane.
