The Tampa Bay area or the Panhandle (specifically Pensacola, and Panama City)

like what places have more to do? better beaches? cheap, but great hotels. I'm assuming Tampa/ Clearwater / St. Petersburg.

What's a better location for families (I'm a teenager, and I have a younger sister, plus my parents and my maternal Grandmother), I've been told The Tampa Bay area is better for families.

Alright, thanks.

If you want beaches forget Tampa (no beaches)and focus more on St Petersburg.
Clearwater has a nice beach but the whole beach area is becoming a traffic nightmare as all the new construction in the area has failed to factor in where you going to put all the cars..
As well as the beaches Heres a few things you may want to try out in St Pete

There is WAY more to do in the greater Tampa Bay area then the Panhandle area, If you're looking for a vacation that's packed with great things to do then the Bay area would be great, However, if you're just looking to hit the beach then the Panhandle would be better. Areas around Panama City and Destin have beautiful beaches but there are also beautiful beaches in St. Pete as well..

Siesta Key near Tampa is a very nice beach, once rated by Dr Beach as the best in the country (Clearwater also was). Then again, Ft. Walton Beach in the Panhandle was also rated the best American beach one year. Either is a good bet, but there's more to do around the Tampa area, as another poster stated.

Tampa Bay specifically Clearwater and St. Pete have a lot more to offer than the Panhandle. You could even spend a day at Busch Gardens, it's a theme park and zoo built in one.

Siesta Key is an hour or more south of Tampa...if I remember correctly...

Went to the panhandle area once...the water at the beach appeared to be green when you looked at it from the shore...hence the nickname of the Emerald Coast...but of course it is not...

There is more to do in the Tampa area...single or married...about the only wonder regarding the gulf coast is...is the red tide in????
