This week the cheapest around here was $2.83.

I thought too about that very same conspiracy... but didn't verbalize it to anyone I knew, cause I was afraid they'd think I was becoming paranoid ...ha, ha, ha...

Default Gas Prices

Living in NYC in 1974 I waited on gas lines for sometimes 2 hours starting at 4am. In 1979 I again waited on gas lines for sometimes 2 hours starting at 4am and having to buy a locking gas cap to prevent my gas from being siphoned while I slept. There were no 24 hour stations then, they opened at 6am which is why you needed to be on line at 4am. You were only allowed 10 gallons at times. I said then, and say again, I care less about the the price, and more about being able to drive into a station to fill up, and drive off in 5 minutes with a full tank. I will adjust my driving habits as prices increase or decrease. Just a thought Starbucks is about $30.00 a gallon but you never hear any complaints about that. Chi Tea anyone with an extra pump?

Default it's always cheaper

in sc for some reason. going back and forth from nc to fla, i always found gas to be cheapest in either sc or ga. this morning, i see that sc and kentucky has like the lowest prices for gas in the u.s. everything is cheap in sc, maybe one of the reasons it is becoming more popular to live there...

SC has some of the cheapest taxes on gas. Thats also why there roads are so messed up. On another note NC has the 16th highest gas tax and yet our roads are still in need of work. I wonder......
