Locals here in Tampa are telling me the last two winters have been way colder than normal. I hope that is the case. I was in vacationing Orlando Xmas of 2009 and living here in Tampa for Xmas of 2010 and both were pretty dang cold. Both years all the locals kept telling me how cold it is. I really do hope this winter is warmer.

Our average high is low 70's daytime in Jan. and we were 65 degrees avg high in Jan 2010. So while there were days where our highs were in the 50's we had just as many days that made it into the 70's. It is hilarious how stories get blown out of proportion through time. A couple years from now we will be telling the newbies that residents of Lake County were downhill skiing.
I was in west Pasco at the time. We still had a few days with 60's for highs and only very few days in the 70's from Jan till the 3rd week of March 2010.

I am more than happy to post pics of my weather records showing the highs and lows of Jan thru March of 2010. I remember weather events of the 70's like nothing. Anyone that wants to go toe to toe with me on weather i am more than happy to fight it out.

And that just goes to show how different the weather can be from one area to the next.
I live almost directly due west of Orlando and our low was 16 degrees, we had a few days where it didn't get out of the 30's, we had 6-10 hour stretches where it was below 25 degrees, a few times.
Nothing getting blown out of proportion here. I was freaking cold.

It was chilly back in winter 2010 but rather than raw emotion and threats of going "toe to toe", does anyone have a link with recorded temperatures for Spring Hill?

I grew up in FL and we moved back here last summer. Well, the heat is just really bothering me now. Even my kids are constantly saying they are hot. (we don't have a pool) When I open the front door of the house, it feels like a blast of heat and humidity!

I have to say, the weather in North GA was much nicer overall. Sure, it got up to 98 in August 2006 and down to 17 degrees w/ wind chill in Feb 2010, but the heat didn't last as long. The morning of Labor Day 2006 was cool and breezy. (I remember because my brother was visiting from FL) Then I rememember another morning in May 2008 when it was in the 60's and gorgeous at our house, but it was in the 90's in our old town in FL.

Before anyone starts bashing, yes - we are looking to move out of FL again. Once you experience the 4 seasons, you really miss them! I like the change and North GA certainly has a pretty mild winter compared to most of the US. So we're doing research and planning our next move. Of course, it would help if we got some showings on the house.

One other thing that I notice now is the bright sun, all day, every day. (seems our afternoon pop-up thunderstorms aren't as frequent as they should be). I find myself enjoying the occasional cloudy day and I really like when we get a rainstorm. I guess I have a bit of "reverse SADD" if that's possible!

Not true at all. It is just like any type of weather, a personal preference. I wish it was over 70 every day of the year and I certainly don't like the days it gets in the 20's and 30's but i will deal with it to have the weather we do the rest of the time
