What's with all the hostility? People on the Florida boards would be less combative if someone was insulting their families!

FL Guy I: Your wife is driving me nuts. I wish she'd pack up & leave the neighborhood.

FL Guy II: Yes, I know what you mean. She drives me crazy too.

FL Guy I: I don't like FL any more. I'm thinking of moving.

FL Guy II: Drop dead you creep! Why did you move here in the first place? We don't need the likes of you anyway!

Maybe if people weren't constantly posting gross exaggerations non-stop, others wouldn't get so defensive.
I get just as much hostility from those posting the exaggerations when I merely post past weather data to refute those exaggerations.

Yes, I am one who exaggerates that it is too hot for me personally and health wise.....

I think one of the reasons for these forums is so we can have some banter pro and con about various topics of interest.
I have noticed when some one says anything they find negative about Florida they are immediately taken to task for their audacity at not proclaiming Florida a veritably paradise. If people only want to hear nice sterile platitudes concerning Florida and no takes on what some might find negative then maybe that stipulation should accompany the topic header..

I don't even care what "they" say, dispute, or what consitent dribble is posted by those select few anymore. You can't win anyways, they are always right, and there is absolutley NOTHING negative about FL, haven't we all learned that by now? FL is paradise.

I guess CD works both ways. I no longer care what "they" say, dispute or what constant dribble posted by those select few. Either they just hate Fl, can't stand hot weather, have failed to assimilate, what ever the case may be. They all just know FL is a hell for them.

Yep, gets hot here in the summer. ITS THE SOUTH. ITS TROPICAL. Anyone should know that and the constant reporting of the temperature and the fact that yes, indeed Sarah, it is hot in
FL in the summer. Couple more months and the same people will complain they can't go to the
beach because its too cold.

No matter what the matter, the select few are going to harp on it whether it has any factual
backing or not. Melted speaker covers. For Crimminy sake.

Reminds me of the time my dashboard was dripping onto my lap while I was driving.

There is a huge difference between "negative" and fantasy.

I dont see any proclaiming a "paradise". Its a nice place to live and is located in the most southern part of the U.S.

It gets hot. It could freeze in the winter in a lot of places. Its diverse.

In FL you can have your choice of zones to live in.

Paradise? Depends on what and where you come from

Well, I personally am ready to adapt!!! 7-8 months of grey skies and cold is not cool! 3 months of heat is not enough! Having to dig your car out of snow to leave the house... getting stuck in the snow while driving down the streets...having to wear boots, hats, scarves & gloves for months and months...the possibility of it snowing on Mothers Day??? Give me Florida weather! I'm ready ;-)

Nothing wrong with Sunny finding it a paradise in comparison to their previous place of residence.

Compared to NYC, FL truly is a paradise to me too and has been for a long time.

Frankly, I wouldn't live anywhere else.
