It is Florida, there are spiders really not much you can do about it. Do I see them often in my home? No not really maybe a few a year mostly small little ones, outside you will see them often again mostly small ones. I have seen the bigger ones like the Bannana spider but for the most part I dont really notice them much. Its weird how the most dangerous ones are the small ones and the bigger spiders tend to be harmless.

Where I live in California..there is rarely a time when I go to my garage, and don't see black widows..once I saw one in the house.

thanks for everyones replies, i understand completely that im likely to come across some in the house at one point or another and im not so bothered about them being outside, i just dont want to encounter them on a daily basis thats all. like a lot of you im sure the more you have to deal with them the less you get scared or bothered by their presence.

If you do a good job keeping bugs out of the house it wont be a daily issue. My home has plenty of bugs maybe too many sometimes. It is difficult and expensive to have a bug free house in Florida especially South Florida. But if you do a good job it wont be daily inside. You will see more outside that is for sure.

Good mother of neptune! First of all, I do not have a spider phobia, but I've come to like them less and less over the years... I had a pet tarantula when I was 8 (no, I never touched it.. but regardless it lived in my room!) Something about that huntsman spider, those long skinny legs... and it's speed... makes me literally want to curl up into fetal position and surrender! With that said, the joy of living in a subtropical environment FAR outweighs the terror of lurking spiders. Now the little lizards on the other hand... are too cute for their own good!
