Default What to do about second inspection within a week?

My family JUST moved into new rental in June via a property management company. A few days ago, the owner of the property show up at the front door asking to come in saying that they just arrived from overseas and just wanted to look around. I agreed.

Then the owner began to complain about the management company and said that I would receive a notice within 2 months that the property management company will change.

Now the property management company of the current lease calls to say that a form wasn't sign when we move in and if we don't sign it, we will be in breach of the contract.

I do not know yet the content of the additional form, but it seems like the property management company rented the property without stipulations that the overseas owner wanted. Like smaller dogs than I have.

In addition to the alleged unsign form, the property management company wants to inspect the house again. My husband is livid, he says that since we had the walk-through by the owner last week, we have met our quarterly inspection requirement and he is going to "hold his grounds".

Do we have any "grounds" to hold on to?

Anything and everything will evolve around the lease that you originally signed. If you never signed a lease, you are technically in a month-to-month agreement. That means that either party can cancel the agreement with a thirty day written notice. Most landlords want the written lease because all stipulations and limitations (eg. allowance of pets) are specified. The original [u]signed[u] lease would also answer any questions for you (usually) if there is a change in ownership.

We signed a one year lease and I am now looking for stipulations for dog size, but there is none. It is also my understanding from the property management office that the owner had also signed-off on the lease, hence, the reason for my surprise.

If the owner is changing property mgt. firms, why don't you just deal with the owner?
