We just announced a store opening in Knoxville. They must be doing a Southern expansion.

Given their business model and how they like to cluster stores to make transport of goods easy, I assume that Tampa, Orlando, and Miami through West Palm are soon to follow. It just doesn't make sense to have one of their stores so far from any other store.

My guess is that Naples just happens to be the one where they finalized the lease first.

Miami, followed by Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach would make more sense if they like to cluster stores in densely populated areas.

You are correct. I had heard from several different sources (rumours) that they would open three in quick succession Naples, Sarasota and Tampa, in that order (as I said, just rumours) They have supposedly been scouting here in Sarasota and Tampa, so I assume it won't be too long before we hear some news about those locations. they must have the distribution worked out now, so I would think it won't take too long to open all over the state. I did read an article in a business journal recently that they were expanding into Texas and Florida, but a lot more in Texas than Florida right now.

Great news. Thanks for posting.

I will make a trip there this fall or winter and will make sure to go to Trader Joe's. Have been wanting to try that place forever. Folks seem to rave about it.

I prefer Fresh Market or Whole Foods to Trader Joe's. I had all of them in NY.
