I plan on moving to Spring Hill Florida but I would need a job. Are there any jobs in the the school department for special needs? Right now I'm currently working in a self-contained class room for emotional/behavioral needs where I have been for the last 12 years.

I am an ESE TA. These are very tough times all over. School budgets were severely cut. In our district they eliminated 30 TA jobs, not to mention several teaching positions. TA's and teachers were placed solely on seniority with the district. The ESE TA positions are very competitive. In our district they are only hiring new employees for one year contracts. Nobody knows what will happen next year. There will probably be more cuts coming.

It is not a good time here to be in education. I would suggest you try for a private school or agency for a while. Maybe when things get better, you can look into the public school district.

Good luck.
