Most years, I never shut mine off for more than a week or two.

An odd question..

When you feel the need to..

I'd say 78 for everyone.

Ditto! I have neighbors who rarely use the a/c, even in the summer. I run it most of the year.

We've ended up running it a little this week because we've had unseasonably high dew points in the low 70s, and we needed to knock a little humidity out of the air. (We usually get dew points in the upper 40s by this point in November.)

Maybe this upcoming cold front finally is finally the real deal bringing night time temps and dew points to where they should be this time of the year.

Since even in Naples it's been in the 60s, or even 50s, at night, I open the windows now when I go to sleep. You don't have shut off the AC if your setting is in the 70s and the outside temps are below it. So far, it's been a cool autumn, even this far south.

I turned on my A/C last Tuesday, it was so hot and didnt cool down at all at night, it's been hit or miss but for the most part, it has cooled down enough at night to cool the house down sufficiently. Tonight is a prime example. Plenty cool outside to suck the warm air out of the house, and it gets cool enough that if I close up the house first thing in the morning, it stays cool enough so I dont have to run the air.
