I agree they are nice places, but I think the term "cheap" is subjective - maybe cheap for some but certainly not cheap by a lot of people's standards.

Once again, Cape Coral is cheap and safe.

Cheap, maybe. Safe, doubtful but there are safe areas everywhere, even in Afghanistan. Best place to live? No

"Doubtful" that it's safe?

Cape Coral was the second safest city in the State of Florida among those cities whose population is over 100,000 people.

Port St. Lucie was the safest with 2300.6 crime rate / 100,000. Cape Coral came in as the second safest with 2467.3 crime rate / 100,000.

Cape Coral: Second safest city in Florida

Those rankings, by the way, place both cities high in terms of "safest cities in the United States" rankings for cities of their size.

Maybe you forget how safe Cape Coral is once you stop selling real estate in the Sunshine State and only sell in PA now. Or maybe you forget when you are trying to sell an e-book that purports the "real reasons why people leave the state, and what living there is really like."

I think most leave Florida because they had this notion that winters were so bad moving to Florida would be a great way to avoid winters, then after a few Florida summers the realization came that those winters weren't all that bad.

True. And a lot of them have this bizarre notion that if they just get to Florida all of their problems - be it personal, professional, family-related - will be solved. Really odd phenomenon.

But none of that has to do with the crime rate for Cape Coral which is the second lowest, per capital, in the state of Florida. And that has been the case for quite awhile now, even when alfbroker sold real estate down there.

Very true. People don't realize summer humidity can be 7-9 months a year, every year. You don't know how you can handle it until you live it, because it doesn't happen up north. If the FL summer was only 3 months it would be different.

It's not 7-9 months. The hot humid months are May-Sep. That's 5 months. October is awesome and so is April and all months between. This past May was very nice weather, not too humid or hot for much of May.

Agreed. In fact, this year the nice, less humid weather lasted until mid-June. Honestly, for the past 3 years or so the Florida weather has been pretty awesome.
