I mean uncomfortably upscale, as fancy as you can get in Daytona. Any suggestions?

LOL at Red Lobster. That's not far from the truth.

Joking aside, probably the most upscale restaurant in Daytona Beach is Chart House on Beach Street.

In Ormond Beach, La Crepe en Haut just off of SR 40 on the beachside.

Top of Daytona on Atlantic Avenue (A1A) is pretty nice too, and has a great view.

Exactly, Daytona Beach is not known for their upscale dining options. Chart House is probably the best you will find, but I would still not consider it upscale. You will have to travel to downtown Orlando and dine at a place like Manuel's on the 28th to experience true upscale dining in Central Florida.

Manuel's on the 28th

This is an oxymoron. Daytona is a burger & beer town.

As you can see from the menu, it's classic French. They have the best wine list in the area. Service is impeccable. La Crepe En Haut Restaurant - Welcome - Fine French Cuisine in an Elegant Setting - Daytona, Ormond Beach, FL (http://www.lacrepeenhaut.net - broken link) Their smoked salmon napoleon is to die for.

Don't bother with the Top of Daytona- it's overpriced and mediocre.

I do agree with LeCrepe and Chart House, however.

Stonewood is nice too but it's upscale casual versus white tablecloth.

Does anyone know the recommended attire for La Crepe En Haut Restaurant? I can't seem to get an answer when I call the restaurant.

Hooters for sure! Daytona is the place where young female runaways get picked up by bikers and years later end up on Cops.
