SailSkipper is on a distinguished road
Cool Moving to Gainesville area. Communities, sailing?

Hello. I'm considering moving to the Gainesville area to be near family and am seeking recommendations for communities to consider. I'm self employed so distance from downtown areas is not a problem. My primary interest is the convenience of sailing my 26' (14" draw) trailerable sailboat in fresh and salt water during leisure hours and weekends.
A rural area is O.K. if on a paved road with water, gas, electrical services and good drainage. I'm looking for a medium-priced house of about 2,000 sq ft on a large lot, to 1/4 acre, existing or to build. The Key West style house that I saw advertised in a "Nature Coast" ad interests me as it allows for natural cooling and ventilation when appropriate.
Oh yeah, could you also recommend a comfortable neighborhood-type sports bar with pool tables, darts and televised games? Thank you.
