Can anyone tell me if you were able to view all the New York Yankees games on the YES network last season? I ended up getting the MLB package last year to view the Yankees games but the package is a waste because I rarely watched any other teams games. I was wondering if I would be better off to just order the sports package which includes the YES network. DIRECTV advised me that Yankees games are blacked out in SWFL while the tech who did my installation last year said I would get games. Who is correct?

We've got the sports package, and I can verify that it's normal policy for Directv to black out non-local market games in order to make you order the premium single sport packages. So yeah, stuck paying for my Centre Ice package every year to see my Red Wings.

It's a contractual thing with MLB broadcast rights. We get YES on Brighthouse cable here in Palm Bay but the live Yankees games are blacked out also.

I consider it a service to the community. We don't need trash like that on television
