Spring Hill
Ridge Manor is about 40 mins from Spring Hill over by 75 bordered by 301.......kids that have to go to HS, would travel to Hernando HSin Brooksville and the middle school is Parrot MS in Brooksville, I once lived in Ridge Manor and having the kids get on a school bus at 6AM and getting home at 4:30PM or later was a long day for my kids, they hated it.
Ridge Manor is fairly nice, there is a community clubhouse, a Methodist Church
and the developement of Whispering Oaks, has a community pool, although I think they are having problems and the pool is shut down as is the clubhouse.
Their golf course is second rate, some roads are limerock, I will say that it is quiet out there, but as someone mentioned kids that are bored get into things
and vandalism is one of them. Its not a place with alot of kids, although there is a park, which is opened for several hours a day. Anyone who lives in Ridge Manor would remember Mr. Hefner, he was in charge of the local boy scouts, and at a well advanced age, tried to keep the kids active, there was also the Kwansis (sp) Halloween Party which my son won first place the year we moved in. Yes, I will always remember Lyle and his wife Marjorie, great people, loving people with a heart of gold for the local kids.
I say visit the area, its not for everyone, there is more and more stores going in over there......Sherman Hills is another developement, also with golf course
Cracker Barrel is there, Burger King, Winn Dixie, The Walmart Distribution Center there is not much out that way in terms of jobs, other than the Distribution center.
My folks lived there from 1972 to 1994......and I still own several properties out there.
