Only problem is that most (not all) but most families in Florida have been living paycheck to paycheck for decades..

(atleast everyone I ever lived around, which I would assume was the norm)

That's great news to hear. I'm excited that my friends and family in FL will reap the benefits. But I'm still leaving.

To add.
Just looking at the sheer number of topics in the Florida and its various sections on this forum on people moving to the state would indicate to me an abnormal number of people moving to the area and definitely send up red flags concerning job availability, and the amount of traffic and congestion that go with it.,just about every post is an i'm moving to Florida topic with the usual I hate winter, need safe area with good jobs, good schools, affordable living and must be close to the beach..Wheres the best place in Florida to live?
Might actually be in GA. or NC.

Yes, people - go to GA or NC! Or maybe Texas - that state has LOOOOTTTTTS of space (right TXRyan? lol) Florida is full, full, full!

Seriously, there are WAY too many people moving to my beautiful area now (Sarasota/Bradenton). Just read recently that we are near the top of a couple lists of places where people are either investing in or moving to. Lots of foreign investment here, as well. If it ends up growing too much, I might have to move. For now, though, it's pretty darn near paradise for us.

Bingo. I'd like TX too, I think, but FL wins for aesthetics and it's proximity to the beaches

Yeah, I suppose there's space. LoL

That was one of the reasons why I never wanted to go to the beaches in Bradenton, they were ALWAYS packed and congested.

Florida wins because it's "prettier" ?

I'd rather live in a toxic waste dump and have a job than live in a paradise and be poor and homeless, personally..

btw, I'm just as close to the beach now (45 minutes) than I was growing up near Plant City, FL.

You know, it isn't about which place "wins" - it's as you said, sometimes people have to go where they can get a job, until they retire or come into money or are otherwise able to choose anywhere in the world they want to live.

Besides, even though Florida is my personal "preferred" state, I could find at least a couple cities in almost every state (yeah, even in Texas! haha) where I could live and be reasonable happy. I just feel fortunate that I do get to live in one of my favorite cities in Florida. Even in Florida there are plenty of cities/towns/regions that I do not like and would not like to live. There is NO state that is 100% perfect or 100% beautiful or 100% ugly. And at the end of the day it's all subjective, anyway.

My job security and pay is the same in either state, so taking that out of the equation, FL wins for me
