I'm of Polish heritage. Not that that has anything to do with it but I know the values and morals we are raised with and trust you want to live in a community of like-minded people. I'd say Spring Hill is a good bet as most people there seem hard working, law-abiding citizens.

As for meeting people, there is a welcome newcomer get-together the town sponsors at the Weeki Wachi center (w/the mermaids) on U.S. 19. I believe it is the 1st Wed. of every month. Call the Chamber of Commerce and inquire about it. Sometimes it takes a while for them to find and contact you so I went ahead and found and asked them.

Another way to meet people is to form a group yourself. Put a small ad in the local paper telling like-minded folk about your getting a history, reading, writing (whatever is your interest) group together. Invite people to meet at the Dunkin Donuts, IHOP or Perkins and meet there, in a safe and public setting. Get to chat with the people who show up and see where it goes. If it doesn't, don't give up after just one try.

Hi Annalucia,

I moved 6 months ago from Europe to Apollo Beach. I used to live in Brussels for about 10 years.
A good advice to adapt easely is to go with the way of living here and not trying to compare things with where you come from.
I did in the begin and I thought, how am I going to adapt here?

All depends in your interests, if you're planning to have a job, mobility...
For exemple, I was used to do everything by bus, subway and train...here your car is your best companion!

Around Tampa, St Pete, Clearwater are a lot of meeting groups, even in different languages.

If you have more specific questions, feel free to ask. I am far from being an experienced Floridian but I'll do my best

Ciao
