Hello Everyone,

I'm new to this forum so I just want to introduce myself very quick. My name is Courtney, I'm 20 years old and live in America since 2 years and in Naples since one year, I'm originally from Germany.

Anyway, I'm having a lot of problems finding female friends. I'm in a long term relationship and I'm not interested in meeting guys. I just want to have someone i can call when I need to and hang out, someone I can call my best friend. It is so difficult to make friends and I hope maybe through this forum I'll meet some people.

but for the most part, florida is not a friendly state...

Well.. I joined a gym, but only older people go to the classes.

And I think Florida is awesome and a very friendly state. I love this state!!!!

try a dif gym or later classes

Hi, I also am from Germany ( Neustadt An Der Aisch) about 2 hours from Frankfurt. Just outside of Nurnberg-- maybe some college classes would
help to meet people. Check your Community College.

I usually meet people when I least expect it, it's hard to meet people on purpose. A lot of relationships originate through work. It is nice when you meet someone who has things in common. you could try something like this

My wife is German and I lived in Germany off and on. We used to go there for a few months each year. People will say Florida is not friendly but it is just people are from other places and have little in common and tend to keep to themselves. In Florida if you are here for a while, people are always coming and going in and out of your life. Some keep in touch but most just become a memory. Life is like that anyway.

I'm restarting college in January. i just transferred from an online to a community college.

Courtney - while I am not your age, I have had two assistants who were and had the same problems you are having. You have received some great advice. All I can suggest is to give it time and in this case, a lot of time. Florida is such a transient state. Hang in there - you will find some friends.
