If you can get into the pilot program there, you'd come out of the military and into civilian life with a heckava lot less debt.

I'm not trying to start a fight here but what about "White" People? You seem to have left them out of this stereotypical conversation. Same things applies to other asians such as Chinese and Koreans. Hmm??? Well if you're going to stamp stereotypes for all sorts of races why don't you stamp one on for "White" people as well?
Dude, you lost my support. I am gay and not a sexual deviant and in fact I know of few who are. We're all people and your hypocrisy is one of the reasons I like humans less and less these days. Best of luck with your future, wherever that happens to be.

If the military route is a potential for you dont wait too long as they start refusing applicants at age 26ish,As you are Canadian why not give the Canadian military a try first as that immigration to the USA could take several years to process..

You do know that there's a lot more to becoming an airline pilot than moving to an area that has major airports, right? Get your private, commercial, and instructor ratings and then start building hours. Then you'll start getting PIC time and may be able to get a minimum wage job flying cargo at night in a dilapidated Baron so you can start building multi time. When you do finally have enough PIC and AMEL time to apply to the regional airlines, if you're lucky enough to land one of those wonderful first officer jobs making about $25K per year, THEY will give you your base. You won't get to choose.

Becoming an airline pilot through the GA route is a terrible existence. You're guaranteed years of debt and life near the poverty level until you finally do either make captain at a regional carrier or get hired by a major. Even that isn't as good as it once was with the demise of the once great airline pensions and the reduction in salaries. I have my commercial AMEL license and was heading that route until I came to my senses.

I am planning on becoming a pilot and also planning on living in Florida (If I have finished with my decisions) and was curious about Major airports that have major Airline HUBS. I know KMIA is home to UPS, FDX, and AAL but I don't really plan on living in Miami so I would need a city that has a large airport with Flights that frequently go to Miami so if I do choose to work for one of these airlines they can cushion me ot the airport! Any help would be appreciated if you can understand what I am trying to say!

Haha don't worry. I'm not one of those guys who just claim that they want to be a pilot yet don't do any research. I've done so much research on this topic and bounced back and forth between but in the end have decided that I am willing to put up with it because I love flying...
