I just tell them to get cheesecake and coffee at Juniors. They get to take the subway across the Manhattan Bridge and see the sights and get a taste of the real NYC at the same time.

I prefer that chocolate layer cake with the seven or eight different layers of different types of chocolate that they have. To die for!

I tell people to take the Staten Island ferry r/t. Then they spend all that money on Circle Line when they can get just as good a view for free.

I do love a good chocolate layer cake (gosh I miss Blackouts from Ebingers), but the cheese cake is so special. I have taken everyone of my dates, first or second, on the SI Ferry trip.

OK, so something great about Florida...

You've never tasted an orange until you've picked it right off a tree, peeled it, and savored it right there in the yard.

But nobody is saying it is better there than here.

Absolutely!

This year is the FIRST we have oranges on the tree since we lived here, 6 years. The tree is about 8 years old, so really on time.

Another great thing--I live near a bunch of grove stands. I can buy a 20 pound bag of scratch and dents for a few $$. Fresh squeezed and CHEAP.

Even when it's cold in the winter I can look out my window and see palm trees. They might have little mini icicles on them, but they are green and I know by noon the icicles will be long gone.
