I was born in this very house in St. Petersburg, FL. I've never lived anywhere else. Hopefully that will change soon.

Not a native Floridian, but will probably always consider Florida "home". I live in NC now and it will take me a very, very long time to consider myself a "North Carolinian".

Guess there are various opinions on what is a Floridian, I always consider those who have lived or love Florida are, but seems most feel if your born there.
With that being said, DW is a Floridian by virtue of being born and raised until she was 5 years old. She has memories of the orange groves and ocean still locked in her mind. Her family still owns that piece of that land they raised most of their kids on as it will never be sold out of the family. No matter how much is offered. |

Not only a native but a 5th generation Floridian on my Father's side and a 3rd generation Floridian on my Mother's side. I did spend 4 years out of state in college but never changed my residency. Beyond those years, I have lived in Florida my whole life.
In reference to the above post...Any drink that is not a coke is a "cold drink". |

My father is from Washington and my mother from California but I was born in Florida and have been here all my life. Am I a native to this state? Though I consider myself a citizen I do not think of myself as a native because I am of more than one culture. What do you think?
