Another example of how the developers of Weston cared only about profits. That kind of school would have never been present in the 1950's.

Reminds me of Mays JR. high in the 70s. We were doing split shifts way back then, whats wrong with these people. Between classes the intersection of the two main halls looked like a mosh pit

And they are going to send the new kids to Western, which between that and Cooper City are probably the last well-rated schools in the entire county to have a fair enrollment balance. The only other well rated schools in the entire region to have a good enrollment balance are in Boca Raton. At least it's not like the situation at Park Vista in PBC where they want to send kids to Boynton Beach High, which is an unsafe inner city school.

Actually now they're sending many of the kids to a school 15 miles away in Boca Raton. This is causing a lot of controversy since the bus ride would be so long.
This is what happens when your county has such a large income gap.

Their test scores at Cypress are some of the best in the state. Thats partially why it got so big. The school that they are sending them to (Western) also has good test scores, but not as good as Cypress Bay. 10% of Cypress Bay gets the free/reduced lunch, and 12% of Western gets it, so socioeconomically they are about the same, but Western is a much, much whiter student body and still has lower test scores. Graduation rates are about the same, give Western the edge (we are talking 93% vs 94%). Basically, it's not a HORRIBLE situation for people moving into Weston like what might be happening in Boynton Beach, but I'm sure many are disappointed to pay the bucks to live in Weston and end up having their kids go to school in the more affordable Davie.
What they really need to do is get the kids using fake addresses out of Cypress Bay. There are people from all over Miami-Dade and Broward going there on a fake address at both schools. I bet at least 10% of the kids who are supposed to be at Plantation or South Plantation high are at Western, but it's less of a big deal because of their enrollment. Point being, the schools have some major issues down here, even if there are a few good ones.
Oh, and about 41% of Americas children get free/reduced lunch VS 45% of Florida. About 41% of Browards children get free/reduced lunch. It's truly scary.

Most of those kids aren't even supposed to have free lunch.

Just add more temporary classrooms, they can be set-up all over the place even on the football field, oh that's right sports are first then academics. Just look at the sport section in comparison to the job section in the newspaper lol!
