Well I'm 16 and my parents definitely want to move to a warmer climate. They are from South America so they hate the cold (we live in Jersey)
We don't know where in Florida would be a good place to settle. They have friends in Orlando, Boca Raton, and Tampa. I'm pushing for Boca Raton because of the things to do and the beaches around. It has to be near the beach! We are looking to buy a single-family house in a suburban type of area. The budget is $400k.
Areas have to have things to do... like restaurants, malls, etc.
-_- Schools have to be good too.

I agree with u. Push for Boca. It's the best out of ur options. You're close to the beach (and tons of others in ft lauderdale and miami)....good schools in Boca too. I attended FAU in Boca ..woot woot, Go owls!.... Also, plenty of shopping, movie theatres, malls, etc.

I think $400k could get u and ur parents a pretty nice home in boca as well.

Also, Boca is super close to Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Florida keys, etc. Not to mention Boca is probably the warmest option, being that yall are trying to move from the cold.

Thanks a lot. We are going to visit and do some house hunting. West Boca or East Boca? I heard that there are some notable differences.

#1 Schools in Florida are in St. Johns County. St. Augustine and Ponte Vedra are two great towns in St. Johns County---close to beach and affordable with great weather! Check out links below.

What?

North Florida is the deep South. No reason to move to that backwater area. Jacksonville in particular, sucks.

I vote for Tampa, over Boca.

Far lower cost of living, far better beaches on the Gulf Coast then on the Atlantic Coast, and Tampa is a far bigger city than Boca, so lots more to do. Plenty of very good schools and school districts in the Tampa/St. Pete area, too.
