Living in West Boca I am sure friendly people would seem strange to you.

Not really, we have amazing friends in west Boca. The day we moved in, 4 neighbors brought cakes and pies. Same thing happened a few years back when we moved into a house in PA. A guy down the street in our neighborhood needs a kidney transplant, 3 people on the street volunteered to get tested for compatibility.
Hmm, imagine that, friendly people are all over, S. FL., up north.....the south does not have a lock on hospitality in any way shape or form. In fact when you get past the myth of southern hospitality you will find those areas have higher divorce rates and domestic violence rates than up north.

I don't care to go back and forth about it as I do have family that live in Boca, and I visit there often.
It is interesting you brought up a transplant. In 1999 I needed a liver transplant. I was put on the list but at that time they would give organs according to time on list, not your present condition. My doctors said that I would not live long enough to get a doner liver as my place on the list was to far down.
Lucky for me I was being treated at Duke University and they were doing adult to adult living donor liver transplant. So they said my only chance was to get a relative to donate. I could not ask any family member to do that as there is some risk. So my mother being the great person she is put the word out to the family. My relatives who live in various parts of Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, California, Texas and Wisconsin were all ready and willing, infact several flew to Durham before they were even ready to test for compatibility. The only family that did not offer were my Aunt and Uncle who live in Boca. So I wish your neighbor the best of luck.

I have friends, associates, etc. in Naples. I've also had the opportunity to buy multiple properties of varrying types -- motivated sellers, short sales, forclosures, etc. I don't like what I see down there -- local economy, builders, market, demographics, etc. in the up to $500k marketplace.
The market is saturated, and that doesn't include the builders who have tons of brand new units to sell. Prices are dropping big time and the market is very quiet, dead as some would call it. At many points on the so called food cycle, there are problematic issues -- from builder to end user, bank to borrower, and so on.

I've been in Naples graduating in college back a couple of years ago, I worked several jobs never moving up with any of the establishments, I'm thinking of leaving this year because Naples is not really a place where you decide to just go about and move here,
especially for the younger generation. It's expensive, a lot of immigrants, gets eventually boring, and aolt more. At first, I thought
it was the best place , but as soon as the real estate went up, people seemed to get very greedy and thought they were going to be millionaires. I don't care about what's going in real estate but a lot of people are, what a bunch of morans. I was thinking about a place like chicago, I'm stilll young and want to start over . If any one an tell me if this is a good move, tell me
so!

mark - can tell you that Chicago is great, if you like a hustling, fun, exciting, vibrant city that is full of opportunities, wonderful people and history, yet is frickin' cold in winter, potentially quite humid in summer. Its one of my favourite cities [Boston and San Fran, along w/ my 'home' St Louis ]. Thanks for the input on Naples.

The immagrants won't hurt you the serial killers, rapist and the most evil will why don't you try watching the discovery channel and you will really find out who to be scared of every city in america has a bad part rather its low, class middle class and high class the low class has robbers and its loud the middle class and high class has the serial killers and rappers and most of america knows this. so any where you go you will be faced with these stereo types even the rich can't live in peace pray to god for a better world.

A friend of mine lives in Naples, I live in the Tampa area. Hate FL altogether (we're all from PA origninally). Visiting Naples is like getting a labotomy while you're awake. A boring town w/ nothing to do & overpriced.

Naples
My God, i have never heard of so much crap in all my life. all you people that have lived in naples 20 plus years obviously have never been any where else in your lives. if you have you would see that just about every other place has (except for the sun) the same negative crap you guys are saying exists in naples. maybe its just the hispanics that bother you racist bastards so much and thats why you all claim this big change from 30 years ago. as far as i know the only thing different 30 years ago was less hipanics and more middle class people. one guy says he's moving to GA. how much are you going to bet he will be complaining about all the blacks in Ga which happen to be the majority class in the whole state. I am not trying to imply that there crapy people here of course there are. I have four home across the u.s. and hey guess what there are crapy people in all of them. I for one happen to be one of the upper class people everyone here has described as snobs spoiled etc. you know what i started very poor and i ended up very rich and kiss my ass if you can do it yourselves. stop working for people take some risks like the rest of us and maybe you to will be one of us. jelousy is not going to get you there.

I have a home in barrington hills il just outside chicago. chicago is a great place but being that i know the city very well i can tell you a lot of negative crap about that great city. for one the obvious blistering cold weather. dec, jan, feb, stay the hell away. cabrini green, hombouldt park, various parts of the south side, various parts of the north side. oh and west. the in betweens are all ok. not trying to scare you but my father was a retired police officer from chicago and i lived all the crime stories at home everyday of my young life. food is good, people for the most part are good. but its are large city and in large cities you have a lot of bad. thing is most people grow up in a part of the city or a suburban town and they claim they grew up in chicago when they didnt. and if your worried about hispanics for that matter all of minorities stay away because it is infested with ecery kind you can imagine. if your looking for utopia i have a piece of island of the coast of the bahamas i would sell you for 2.5 mil and you could make it and fill it with just the kind of people you like.
