I've been told in no uncertain terms by many that Florida is Paradise.. The swarms of bugs and the widespread chemical spraying to combat the problem makes me wonder about the validity of this oft used paradise label.

Apparently not in St. Petersburg. I've never seen them as bad as this year.

We have lived in Vero Beach for five months, and our house has a retention pond behind it. So far I have not seen or heard about any spraying in our area, but I also have not seen a single mosquito ! I am frequently outside at dusk, and just after dawn, but so far have not had a single bite or even a sighting of one. Maybe our pond has been treated for them, but I have not been aware of any spraying.

What they spray in the air to kill mosquitos can't be nearly as bad as putting Off on your skin to keep them away! I DOUSE myself in Off spray when I visit family in Naples. The mosquitos will eat you alive.

In the Summer the very loud sprayers come through our development once a month at about 9 pm.

they don't spray in big pine key Florida because of endangered butterflies. They used to but the feds stopped the the local mosquito control from spraying. I say can i get a tax rebate/refund Monroe county?
