My husband and I are also a young family that live in Sebring. You may want to look in the quiet area of Spring Lake. It is a golf course community located very close to the small airport and race track. The wild life is very nice and the people are very friendly. There are some great deals on homes in that area as well. We do not have any children yet, but I have heard that the Cracker Trail schools are very good. I believe the last time I checked they where A rated. I have seen some homes in Spring Lake that were listed on Ebay not long ago, I don't know if they are still there.

Hi, I'm also moving to Sebring with 2 young kids (5 & 7). I also heard that Cracker trail was the best public school but have not heard anything about private schools. We liked the "country club of Sebring" area. There were nice houses and there seem to have lots of kids, and a pool, etc. These is part of the Cracker trail school district area. I didn't see the Spring Lake area you're talking about. Is it also in the same school area? when I went in the school district website I couldn't believe that the country club of Sebring was 10 miles from the Cracker trail school. To me that seems very far -that means I'll have to drive 20 miles just to take my kids to school and back home. Now I usually volunteer in their school a lot and sometimes go there 3 times a day or more (including the times I take them and pick them up). Is this usual in Sebring or is that neighboorhood just farther away from everything?

Everyone here is right, we have lived here 10 years vacationed here since birth. Cracker trail is the best locally as far as schools. Private schools are Christian and quite expensive.
We live near downtown and it is fine for a young family as that is what we are... but really anywhere is good becuase the area is growing and there are more and more young families moving into the area. |

Hi all,
my daugther attends Lake Placid Elementary School and while I don't disagree with Crackertrail Elementary being a great school, Lake Placid Elementary is great as well. They have wonderful programs and have received a continuous rating of A+. Spring Lake is a very family friendly golfing community, the streets are safe for kids to ride bikes and play. Homesites are generously sized with many empty lots inbetween homes. I would have opted for Spring Lake to purchase a home had it been closer to Polk County (my inlaws live there). If I can help answer any other questions or address any concerns, please let me know. Andrea Mills Mod deleted Last edited by sunrico90; 06-21-2008 at 02:55 PM. Reason: Signatures are not allowed |
