Is buying a lot in North Port a good investment?
I will be going to North port in the near future to check out some lots. A realtor in New York is offering us a 1/4 acre for 50K ready to build. I have some questions that I wish some of you can help answer.
- Which area in North Port do you recommend?
- Is the price too high or about right?
- Is it a good investment?
The realtors in NY are saying that North Port is the best place in Florida to invest ATM due to its population growth in the area. Any advice?
thanks.

ditto - not a good move at the moment... there are plenty of posts on North Port on this site.
You could be worse and bought a lot in Lehigh Acres......

I think that price is high. They are $20 and under now and if it does not have any water or sewer, look for assessments to add to your price. I would NOT buy right now unless you pay under $5000, and you could just 3 years ago.

Agreed. There are no lots in North Port worth 1/2 of what you are being told.

You may find some waterfront lots in Port Charlotte that might command that kind of price, but the market here is tanking badly. I am not familiar with Citrus Springs, so I can't offer any advice on that.

my wife and I are so confused. I guess we need to go there and check out the lots ourselves. I just checked in realtor.com and they have lots for .25 acres starting from 8K all the way to 50k. There is got to be something fundamentally different in these lots for the huge difference in price.
