Default Educational attainment of Florida forumers

I am just curious what percentage of people on this forum are college educated.

Somehow I can't believe that 92% of our members are college educated. Perhaps we have some liars?

Maybe a couple. OTOH, perhaps this site attracts people who are interested in their communities, and enjoy an exchange of ideas - an intellectual curiosity that would lead them to pursuing a college degree or equivalent. Just a thought.

I'm not sure why anyone would lie about it (although thats always a possibility). I mean really, the poll's anonymous. Unless of course, they're lying to themselves....and that's a whole other issue!

I will come out and be one to say that I did not graduate college. I went to Stetson University for 2 years and I am still paying for it! I stopped because I got married and never went back but in my field (insurance sales) it is not necessary so I am not suffering because of not having my degree.

I quit school in my senior year. Later I got a GED to make my father happy, he only went to the 6th grade, although this was around 1912 and it was common to not go any further back then. I was an honor student at the time I quit by the way. School to me was just a joke and I had other interests.

My father was obsessed with us kids going to college. So I slogged through 3 different undergraduate programs and finally graduate school. Ended up with a Masters Degree in Biology.

Funny thing is I never used it as I started my own business right after college, completely unrelated to biology. I really wanted to open a business after high school. So for me 7 years of college just postponed my venture and left me with lots of student loans.

Bachelor's degree, 1981 graduate of Southern Illinois University.

Some of the sharpest, most successful people I've known through the years either (A) never went to or did not graduate college, or (B) wound up prospering in fields that had little or nothing to do with their college major/area of study. All of them had a lot of street smarts and common sense -- things you can't learn in a college classroom.

My sweet hubby did not go to college. Being in the construction industry, when you meet him, you will see he is not a button-down kind of guy. He makes five times a week more than I do and is the best man I know. BTW, my daughter, whose 29th birthday is today, is getting her Masters in Biology. She'll be going to another college to get her doctorate. She tells me about it, and I smile and nod and understand about every 5th word, as it is way too complicated. If she's happy, I'm happy.
