Default Altoona, Florida

Hello, I'm Mr. Ed,

I live in Altoona, Florida. I think this is the greatest place on the planet and I am in the center of the universe. For me, a true paradise. My praise for this area is endless. So what if I'm only 98 feet above sea level and there's no mountains or hot springs? Big deal. Mount Dora is nearby. I bet if you climb to the top of Mount Dora you may be way up over 100 feet high? There's clear springs boiling up fresh clear clean water out from of the Florida Aquifer in the nearby National Forest. Altoona is in a No Fly Zone and the lack of airplanes is quite noticeable. In one hour I can be anywhere in Orlando, Daytona Beach, or Ocala. (Called Slowcalla around here. I don't go there often.) Daytona and Orlando is where work and play are at.

I'll write more later and possibly dig out some pictures,,,

Goodnight,

Mr. Ed

Default Altoona Rocks!!!

This past Spring, me and 7 girl buddies went to Altoona for a Girls Weekend Out. Took our horses and had a fabulous time!!!!

We stayed at Fiddler's Green. The horse facilities were great, the cabins were great, the staff was awesome, the riding trails into the Ocala Forest were great. We will do it again in 2007.

Altoona rocks!!!!!!

Default Looking forward to calling Altoona Home!

Hi-I came across this area of Florida by chance...I was trail riding a year ago in the Ocala National Forest and came across a horse property for sale--how awesome is that?!!?!? A year later...I am proud to say I just purchased the property...it needs some major TLC but it's all going to be worth it. I truly believe that. On top of a beautiful area--I must admit-I am very very impressed by the people in this area of Florida--they've been super nice...neighbors coming over offering their help, offering their equipment....I've never experienced such nice people. Altoona,Florida--one of those best kept secrets in the state!

What a great surprise! Sounds lovely!

A few years back, I helped a nice guy get a mortgage loan in the Ocala area. His home appraised for around $650K and the home was absolutely to die for. All brick, 2 story, on 2 acres, gorgeous and that was in 2002.

I remember it was a great experience!

Welcome to Florida!

Default Golf Courses in Altoona

One of the best golf courses in the area is minutes away in Howey-In-The-Hills, Florida (Mission Inn Resort)-totally awesome!
