Hi everyone I have a question, I was looking at the highlands county profile, and was surprised to see that the average size of a farm is 567 acres!!! Look for yourself if you want. I wanted to know, does that literally mean that most farms over there are each around 500 acres? that's impossible!! I thought you only needed 10-20 acres for a farm not 500!! and considering that florida land is rather expensive and people there are not exactly usually affluent, how can this be? I hope this is a mistake because I cannot afford 500 acres in florida...I can't even afford 50!! so I'm sacred now! Plus, i have a lot of friends in sebring because I own a business over there and I'm there a lot. I swear that it is totally small town and southern country but my friends who live there say it's not. However friends who come from a big city and have just move there agree with me. so which one is it? Lol thanx guys... and gals!

You can buy a 10 acre plot and call it a farm if you like. I am sure they are all over the place.
