Construction work isn't very good in NE Florida right now. Most anything dealing with/around real estate is at a standstill. I would be very careful about moving here withough a job lined up in the construction field. There are roofers, builders, developers, etc. that are really hurting.

As for house rentals in St. Augustine, that depends greatly on what your budget is and what you require in terms of square footage, etc.

There is a very large School for the Deaf in Blind in St. Augustine. Florida's Public Residential School for the Deaf and the Blind
I wasn't able to locate any school specifically for autism, but perhaps the link above can give you contact information for someone who can be of better guidance.

Good luck!

The University of St. Augustine for Health and Sciences is there and they specialize in training in therapeutic fields (speech and occ therapy).

I have a friend with an autistic child in St. Johns County schools. He's in 4th grade- they moved there when he was in 2nd grade. They said the special education programs there far exceed those offered in Volusia County.

There is a lot of construction in St Johns and South Duval Counties. Look toward the north part of the county in the World Golf/Hwy 210 areas. I don't know of any specific companies but the area is much busier than areas south of there.
