Well I think its because many people don't want to live in the "South" or in a place that you need to go to church and if you don't go, you get judged. Yet they wanted to live in a place that was tropical and warm, so they moved to South Florida, not Tampa or Jax. Tampa and Jax are like the "South" in some ways and very religious too. Many people want to live in a place they can be themselves and not be bothered or judged, so they moved to South Florida.
