I havent seen hardly any at all. Saw much more in Ohio. All I ever heard from Florida haters before I arrived here was complaints about the heat and the the bugs. Is it just because we are approaching winter that I'm not seeing them? Or are tons of pesticides being dropped from planes while I'm sleeping? Is it just because it's not lovebug season? What's the deal?

i think that we are not in lovebug season now. a good way to get the dead lovebugs off is fabric softener sheets. i am noticing a few more mosquitos when i go out at night. i notice that there is not much complaining about florida weather now! :0)

Lovebug season is over. Winter time means less bugs, although the fire ants are out in force.

Other than the short-lived love bugs, there are far less bugs in Florida than what I've seen in Massachusetts.

There are more bugs in Florida than I ever saw in Virginia.
There aren't many around now because of the weather. The mosquitoes and even the palmettos are pretty dormant in this season. It will pick up around May. It also depends on which part of the state you are in as some bugs are more prevalent in certain areas than others. As previously stated, there is no shortage of fire ants. I spent about an hour this morning covering my yard with Amdro. |

We have lived all over the US and Florida has no more bugs than many other places. In PA this last summer, we got ravaged.
And our relatives in Minnesota say that MN mosquitoes are big and aggressive. They bite right through DEET sprays. |

You actually sit there waiting to post your photos of bugs or the photo of you holding a Florida license plate and waving goodbye?
By the way, those pictures could have been taken at my parents house in PA. The box elders that they have, the stucco...looks identical. You moved to your heaven, NH months ago. Why on earth do you continue to post about Florida day after day after day? |

They actually do have the large roaches (palmetto?) in New York and other big cities. I had to buy some roach poison to get rid of them. I've found they only like to be around a water source though (I had them in the bathroom and never saw them anywhere else in apartment).
