33411 zip code **advice**
Does anyone know about west palm beach with the zip code above. It is close to the fairgrounds in west palm. I have been offered a job there and they were very upfront about the problem of some crime. We have a toddler and I would not want to move to a shady neighborhood. Although it would be temporary I'm not looking to get mugged at 7 at night. Any advice would be appreciated!

my advice to you:
take a few days and go check out that area yourself. You are moving to WPB, make the right decision for yourself.
Good luck.

That area is actually Royal Palm Beach with that zip code. While the area is ok, with a young child you will be better to move to zip code 33414 which is Wellington and is just a few miles away.

33411 is Royal Palm Beach. Parts of it are very nice, some are shady. You really have to drive around and check out all of the neighborhoods. Looking up crime stats online is not accurate, Royal Palm Beach, Loxahatchee, Unicorporated WPB and Wellington all get lumped into one statistic: West Palm Beach. Which really isn't fair because there are fantastic areas of all of them. Have you considered The Acreage 33412? The houses are all on 1.15-2 acres and you get a lot for the money. It neighbors RPB and you're hubby wouldn't have a huge commute. Also, the schools are all "A" schools and are the best in the county. Good luck to you!

Thanks
Thanks all, I think I will be passing on this job. Looks like it is located in a "shady" area of WPB.
Thanks!

Hmmm.... the fairgrounds area isn't exactly by the roughest part of West Palm.
But... if it's a good job, why not work there and live in Wellington, which is just a short drive down Southern Blvd.?

I live in 33411...and not in a "shady" area. In fact, if you wish something like a gated community, there are 2 directly across from the fairgrounds on the other side of Southern Blvd., and at least one other comes to mind across 441. Of course there are areas which are less than desirable, but tell me where in this country would that be an exception? I think in every area there is always someplace where it's undesireable.

I also live in 33411 and couldn't believe that someone would say "shady" maybe shady with all of the palms in my yard.

33411 is the "acreage". Very nice area with big homes on 1.3-2 acre lots. Most of it is nice....
