Just moved to Panama City for a job a few weeks ago. I live on the Callaway side of town and looking for recommendations for a pool and gym. I notice a lack of pools around here, no YMCA. I guess for access to the beach, why bother????

Also, looking for good local restaurants in PC/PCB. Any place have buffet w/ crab legs?

Not sure about the pool issue. You might check into some of the resorts I've heard some sell locals pool access memberships. Capt. Jack's on Thomas Dr. has a buffet with crab legs. We usually go there when we're down that way. Good luck on your move. We're hopeful of moving down that way in the near future.

It's a bit of a hike from Callaway, but Frank Brown Park in PCB has a really excellent aquatic center- they even have a pretty long morning session where they set the lanes up long course meters:

I share your frustration of a lack of places to swim. One would thing living in fl with the high temps they would be plentiful but they are not. the ONLY public places to swim unless you own or rent a condo is Frank brown park aquatics center and gulf coast state college and you have to be enrolled there to use it. otherwise its the gulf or the bay. i believe there is a place called honors gym in callaway and then you have the normal places like golds, healthplex ect. the fees vary. there is a YMCA but they do not have a pool.
