Default hernando real estate

A few years ago we bought two lots on a lake (big but landlocked lake.) One had a trailer on it, the other is vacant. Wanting to sell now, and wondering what the market there is like. Are there vacant houses everywhere or are people still buying things there? Any outlooks for the future when the baby boomers start coming??

Very few buyers out there. We've a new house in Hernando and have had it on the market for a year+. Not much seems to be selling, there's a glut of houses and it's a buyers' market. Good luck selling.

I don't know the market in hernando county. I sell real estate in Vero Beach. . .and lots have not been selling. People that are going to buy and hold onto the land for a few years are scared away by the taxes. The people that are thinking of buying a lot to build their home on, are waiting to see what happens with this crazy market. Actually, just this past week, I noticed several agents in my office talking about getting phone calls on lots. Could be a fluke, but you never know?

The one with the trailer on it would probably sell quicker. Vacant lots are not selling well at all right now. Which lake is it on and is there actually water in the lake now?

Default Watch out for Sinkholes in Hernando

If you buy a home in Hernando, do some due dilligence in advance. It is one of three counties in Florida naturally susceptible to sinkholes which can make homeowners insurance difficult to get and very pricey.

Avoid the areas that are vulnerable to sinkholes as much as possible.

Good luck!
