Wondering if craft fairs are popular in Florida? We may relocate to Florida in the future. I am a crafter in New Jersey, but craft shows are not that popular like they were years ago. Is that the same in Florida too?? Curious what area you live in as well. Thanks.

It depends upon the type of "crafts". Juried Craft Shows/Fairs tend to still be popular though they're more merged with traditional Artists in Art Shows. Non-juried work tends to show up in Flea Markets and what passes for Farmers Markets in Florida.

The season for these is October-March. It's not as hot, it's not rainy season, and the population of many FL towns doubles during this time of year. FL has lots of them, and some are very large/popular.

My crafts change every few years, because I feel customers get bored. Currently I am making dog bandannas, cell phone/gadget cases, flower pins. dog & cat wood plaques and Christmas ornaments.

I think those generally are more Flea Market type items than our Art Festivals type of merchandise. We have lots of Flea markets down here so might want to look into them as well as craft shows.

At Melbourne Fall art Festival, a lot of us were surprised to see so many jewelry booths instead of the art work we usually have. I doubt weather I will even take off work to go to that one next Fall like I did this year.

To me they are nice and not flea market stuff. I don't sell at flea markets here in NJ because everyone wants to pay 25 to 50 cents for everything. That is an insult to me, after I buy the supplies and make it myself. They are handcrafted and not buy/sell crap from China.

Is that the same in Florida? Meaning, will people talk me down to under a dollar for my crafts.?? My items range from $3 to $10.
