My family and I are looking into moving to Sanford, FL. or around the area.....Need help on ups and downs in area or Sanford it self.

Sanford is not the best of neighborhoods. It's on the outskirts of ORlando. If you really want to move to the ORlando area then you should try Altamonte Springs, Oviedo or Longwood. Much safer and nicer than Sanford.

Thanks, I dont know anything about that area and it helps to know. Also thank you for the other places aswell. Oh, do these other locations have places to walk, for ex: parks, etc.... easy to get around?

It TOTALLY depends on what part of Sanford you are talking about. Sanford has come a long way and if you're up near the Seminole Town Center which is at I-4 and state road 46 areas, you will find alot of extremely nice subdivisions.
If you're thinking of the 17-92 and 46 areas of Sanford near the old downtown, then yes I have to agree with "NYLATINQT."

Oviedo, Winter Springs are really nice.....and if you don't mind driving a little you can head out near Geneva or Chuluota. There were will find a bit more of a country setting.
