The vast majority of the state is small towns, forests, farmland, and suburbia....

They don't call it the "garden state" because it smells like a factory...

I was told that New Jersey's state motto is "The Armpit of the US". Or maybe it's just the nickname. I drove through Jersey on many occasions and it looked and smelled like one.

My husband and I moved to south Florida in the early 70's because the weather was good - and we thought our job opportunities would be better than they were in the NE. We were right on both counts. That nickname was given by people who don't know sh$t about New Jersey....

Let me guess....

yes its great if one can actually make a nice living and live the way they intend too...and from what I have seen in 3 years, unfortunately that isn't the case for so many Florida loving people...As far as NJ is concerned like anywhere else it has its cons, I have lived in 5 different states and can tell you a lot of differences, NJ being one of my favorites but im from here, and Florida was our 2nd favorite place....it was even better when it was nice and warm...
