Fun Things To Do In Florida
Hello, one and all...
I've very much enjoyed living in Tampa Bay the last three years, but my wife and I are moving on at the end of December. In the meantime, I'd love to hear your suggestions for any fun things, unique to Florida, to experience that we haven't yet. We have done the following:
DisneyWorld and all its parts
Universal Studios/Islands Of Adventure
We've seen a shuttle launch/toured Cape Canaveral
Cypress Gardens and Busch Gardens
We've road tripped to Miami and swam in the ocean
Rays/Lightning/Magic
Plenty of trips to the beach
I regret not going to a college football game, and I kinda want to see the original Barnum house in Sarasota. Not too interested in camping in the Everglades.
What other pieces of greatness have we missed?

Just a few off the top of my head:
Air boat tour of the Everglades, you don't have to camp.
Visit Key Biscayne, simply amazing.
Parrot jungle
Monkey jungle
Casino boats
Lion Country Safari
Attend the Nasdaq 100 pro tennis Championships
Take the drive down to Key West
Tour St. Augustine...another amazing town.
Pensacola Symphony....an top symphony company in a surprising location.
Daytona Speedway

I have always wanted to tour the St. Augustine light house after Taps did their investigation there.

I don't like touristy things but I really loved swimming with the manatees in Homosassa.
It's the only thing in Fl I would do again.

Any PICS to share with the forum members?
You mentioned tourist things, but we have many Floridians that have not visited some of the unique and beautiful places that our state has to offer. I visit 3 or 4 times a year St Augustine. No other place offers the tranquility and relaxation like St Augustine. We used to live in Satellite Beach and in the Banana river we had a large number of manatees and we experienced the manatees and was breath taking...

Go here: Nicest beach I've seen in Florida... Scenic ride through the keys...
Kayaking through crystal clear water... Daily snorkle trips from the park to the reef... Not over crowded...This is always my fav part of visiting Florida.. Sandspur beach on the north end of the park looks like something you'd see in the Bahamas or something..

Did you guys ever swim with dolphin (not at a theme park?) Any good places for this? That, I've heard, is a once in a lifetime exp. Kind of like seeing the whales in Alaska.

I agree. I live in Jax, and Old St. Aug is fantastic. You shouldn't leave the state OP without seeing it once.
